Our self-proclaimed male allies

The person I worked with put together an all-male show. When I brought up that this was problematic and we needed to discuss it, he got angry and yelled at me for having a limited lens. Our male colleague agreed with him that the gender lens was not applicable in this all-male show, which had been staged repeatedly without women.

What he failed to realise was his own lens and views were limited. You can't pick and choose when gender is applicable, and it's convenient when it's only applicable when it's not your work.

Every so often I see him online talking about how he's always opening up spaces for others people. Also calls himself a feminist,and gets credit for it. Nice.
